The school provides courses in modern news practices and courses in print, tv, radio and digital media. The school puts special emphasis on the hands on and takes a practical approach to journalism.

2002ರಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜಯಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮ ಪ್ರವೇಶ. 2008ರಿಂದ 2011ರ ವರೆಗೆ ದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ವರದಿಗಾರನಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ. 2011ರಿಂದ 2015ರವರೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡಪ್ರಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ವರದಿಗಾರ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಖ್ಯವರದಿಗಾರನಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ. 2016ರಿಂದ 2017ರ ಅಂತ್ಯದವರೆಗೆ ವಿಶ್ವವಾಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಸಂಪಾದಕ. 2017ಡಿಸೆಂಬರ್ ನಿಂದ ಹೊಸದಿಗಂತ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮೂಹ ಸಂಪಾದಕ.

About The Course
Alma Media School offers a six month certificate course in modern news practices which is an integrated approach for news reporting and journalism for all major media platforms like print, visual, radio, and digital. The syllabus is specially designed to extensively train students for a career in all media platforms at state, national, as well as English-centric international media. The school features a well-equipped studio and media lab with sophisticated technology for its students. The course is also available online. How is the course unique
Active journalism is much more than its basic tenets - communication, freedom of expression, and various technological aspects of news production. Society forms the fabric for everything that is reported. Hence understanding the society one lives in becomes crucial. For a potential journalist understanding our society entails the right knowledge and interpretation of social fabric, political system, governance, law, constitution, medical, crime, agriculture, movies, sports, and every other thing that defines the society. Alma Super Media School offers a unique comprehensive course in media practices that weaves society at par with the foundations of journalism.
Dialogue with achievers
Along with classroom sessions the curriculum plan includes regular interaction and dialogues with visionaries, subject experts, and achievers from different fields. For instance, the students will have the opportunity to learn about law aspects from a renowned advocate or a retired judge, or learning the ropes of anchoring from seasoned and senior news reader, or pagination from a senior editor in print media forms the framework of the curriculum.
Knowing the authorities
Another characteristic feature of the curriculum is introduction to various institutions, governmental organizations, local bodies, cultural entities, etc. to have an in-depth understanding of our country system. This is done by periodical discussions with a representative from the offices of Lokayukta, Meteorological Department, Forensic Lab, FICCI, and so on.
Thus the course intends to have a dynamic, interactive fusion of journalism and society to shape knowledgeable and pro-society, humanistic journalists.
Eligibility
Any graduate in any stream – Arts, Humanities, Science, Commerce, Law, etc. Those who have appeared for their final year degree exams too can apply provided they pass their degree exams and produce the proof of their pass at the time of admission. Knowledge of English is a must.
After the course
Completion of the course should enable a student to work for media, not only in India but across the globe. Some of the roles are: Visual (TV) Media – copy editor, reporter, producer, and news anchor. Print Media – copy editor, reporter, feature editor, and columnist. Radio – copy editor, reporter, news reader, news bulletin producer. Online – copy editor, reporter. Alma Media will also set you up with Internship programs and will assist you in getting placements.
